Andrew’s connection to palliative care and oncology massage is a personal one:

“I remember visiting my father in Frankston Public Hospital in late 2015 when he was battling the end stages of Pancreatic cancer. I’d visit him each night to massage his back to help him fall asleep. He would often say to me that my touch was the only relief he was getting from the constant itching and invasive medical intrusions. He would always close his eyes and smile when I placed my hands on him (even when there wasn’t much else to smile about). Each massage helped him to re-connect with his body in a positive way, to forget his troubles (even just for a moment), and to help him fall asleep.

That was all I could do for him – but it was enough.

The difference it made to his last few days and weeks has stayed with me ever since, and I now want to bring that comfort and peace to others on their own journey.
